Christmas Program

The boys just before our church Christmas program. Joey had a "real" tie on that goes around the neck and he was excited. Silly boy!

Taylor's Photographer Skills....

Taylor took this at the Barker Christmas of an ornament. If you look real hard you can see the reflection of Robert standing against the wall.

For about a week or so, it was CCOOOLLD!! A few mornings it was -2. The boys were getting ready to catch the bus one morning and this is how I found them as they were ready to head out the door.

Joey's Pie

I was in charge of the pies this year for Thanksgiving and so the day before I set off making my array of pies. Joey was watching and so wanted to make his own. So he helped make the crust and mix the fruit up and made his very own peach pie. He was quite proud of it.

Random Moments

Taylor thought he was being funny one day playing with the balloons and making them staticy and putting them on Spook. Spook, on the other hand, didn't think it was too funny.

Joey had a Crazy Hair day at school. He wanted to do one half orange and the other blue, in support of BSU but after halloween, you can't find colored hair sprays so we happened to have green so that's what he was stuck with.
The past month, we have been washing some dishes by hand that don't fit in the dishwasher. It's funny how modern convienences tend to make you forget about good old fashioned work. So we've been putting the boys to work washing dishes. They actually like it, though the floor usually ends up just as wet. Owell!!

Pumpkin Day

Today is the Friday before Halloween and the boys didn't have school and mom and dad didn't have to work either. We started off the day with daddy making breakfast. We cleaned up then got out the pumpkins. The boys each had picked out a pumpkin at Walmart (never made it to the pumpkin patch this year). While the boys were carving, we cut up a pumpkin from our garden to make a pie with. We also had saved all the seeds from the boys pumpkins and they are in the oven roasting as we speak (or type!).

Halloween Party

They boys went to a halloween party. Joseph won best costume as a pirate. Taylor is a star trek storm trooper. They are sporting around homemade hand painted buckets made by their aunt Jennifer. They also have flashlights that match.

First day of School.....August 2009

Taylor 5th Grade - Mrs. Malher.

Joseph 2nd Grade - Mrs. Black.

Summer 2009

I know these are a bit late, but better late than never! (o:

In August we took a "mini" vacation to Meridian and Boise. We went to the Birds of Prey and WaHooz, where we went miniture golfing and the boys rode the go-carts. I picked a hotel that had a pool and we went swimming. Then the next day we went school clothes shopping. It was a short and sweet vacation but we enjoyed it.

FINALLY!!!

Joey finally lost his first top front tooth this morning! He was eating breakfast and thought he had bitten into a seed, but it was only his tooth!

We have a CHICKEN!!

So this last Friday evening, Joseph took off his shirt getting ready for bed and he had all these little red bumps all over his stomach and some on his back, next, sides and face. I had an idea of what they might be but prayed they weren't (we had lots of plans on the weekend).

So bright and early Saturday morning, we headed to the doctors office and were the 2nd ones there. When they heard Joey's symptoms, they took us immediately back to the exam room, where is was confimred...CHICKEN POX!! Both my boys had the chicken pox vaccine but it's only 70-85% effective but since he did have the shot, it should only be a really mild case.
So anyhow....after the diagnosis, we were ushered out the BACK door and our exam room was quarantined.
So here we are....the beginning of Spring Break....stuck in our home. Joseph is feeling just fine. Only symptoms he has is the spots so it's hard be home with a sick kid who doesn't even act sick!! (o:

Today was Valentine party day at the boys schools. Joey was lucky he got to go cause he had been absent from school the last 2 1/2 days sick. But he woke up feeling better so he got to go.

Taylor had to make a valentine box at home to take to school. He made his as a robot. His class played Bingo (with lots of prizes) and had rootbeer floats.

Josephs class had stations where they made cards, hearts and treats. They had a relay race in the hall and a game where they had to pick up big candy hearts with chop sticks.
